How to Teach a Labrador to Sit

Apr 2nd, 2008 | By Jessica Kelly | Category: Training

Found a great video on Youtube teaching a Labrador retriever, or any dog for that matter, how to sit properly.

This method uses positive reinforcement, specifically using food rewards (she uses carrots and asparagus) but using meat often works better. It has a higher “food value” to the dog, seeing as dogs are essentially carnivores. Anyways, hope this provides some much needed help for all you new lab owners out there. All I can say is…look at that tail go!
