Setting Your House Up For Safety

It’s very important that before you leave for work everyday, that you safe-proof your house. Put baby gates in areas where you don’t want your dog in or leave your dog in one area of the house. Make sure there aren’t any items that can be ingested such as towels, bedding and shoes. It is also a good idea to place household plants high up or away from your dog if you find that your dog is curious.

Tips To Keep Your Dog Safe

  • Give your job a KONG toy or several KONG toys and stuff them with peanut butter and other treats. This will keep him occupied hopefully for a little bit.
  • Walk or run your dog before you go to work so that he will sleep most of the day while you are away.
  • Confine your dog in one room or one part of your place. This will keep your dog safe and keep him from getting into something that he or she shouldn’t.
  • Avoid keeping your dog outside all day. The heat could cause heat exhaustion and any water you may leave for your pet could be turned over.
