What your dog eats is very important to their health and well-being. Many dogs are allergic to corn, which is a filler in a lot of dog foods. Other dogs get gas from eating their food. Holistic dog food is a top choice when considering what type of food to feed your dog. If you can read and understand what is in your dog’s food, then you know it is good for them and that no fillers. Here is a list of the top 5 holistic dog food brands that I recommend.

  1. After months of searching on line for the best holistic, organic etc. dog food I could find I settled on Buffalo Blue. My old dog did great on that, but 5 month old didn’t do so well. I can’t get Blue where I live. I have to drive an hour and a half to buy it, so I thought I’d try something that I could buy local. I tried Solid Gold, old dog not so good, pup did well. I switched to Canidae all stages yesterday, both dogs stool looks good, a little soft, but to be expected when switching foods.
Doing research today I found many frightening allegations about Canidae dog food. The ingredients in Canidae appear to be healthy, balanced and nutritious so I am feeling frustrated and confused.
If you have any factual information on the Canidae law suit, analysis done on the food, or any information that will keep me from throwing this food away, or give me piece of mind while feeding my loved ones, it would be so appreciated.
    Thank you
    Julie

  2. I fed my dogs Canidae for over a year (All Stages brand) but recently found that they weren’t enjoying eat it anymore. I heard from our local pet store that Canidae has changed manufacturers last fall so this could account for our dogs not liking the food. We are recently testing Taste of the Wild which they seem to love. They have interesting choices like Bison, Salmon and Fowl. Good luck in your research.
