Behavior Problems In Your Dog – Solutions
Jun 27th, 2009 | By Jessica Kelly | Category: BehaviorNot every dog is a great dog. They don’t come with instructions and there are times when you need to know how to stop a particular behavior. Behavior problems in dogs can be daunting. Some dogs chew your shoes while others whine while your’re watching TV. Still other dogs may bark uncontrollably when they spot another dog or behave aggressively towards other dogs. Whatever the problem is, there is ALWAYS a solution.

Tire Out Your Dog
It’s a known fact: when a dog is tired they will sleep and will not misbehave. You hear Cesar on The Dog Whisperer say it numerous times, exercise your dog. This is true especially for Labradors. Many Labradors are born with extra energy. They are bred to hunt all day and retrieve all day so they are always on the go. So on a daily basis, walk your dog, play catch with your dog, take your dog to a dog park and let him run around.
Socialize Your Dog
Putting your dog in a socialization dog class will greatly improve his behavior. Dogs are pack animals and learn from other dogs so providing your dog with a role model will help diminish any negative behaviors.
Walk Your Dog Daily
By walking your dog you are training him to follow you and listen to you. It’s a special bond to walk your dog. This is also a great mental exercise for your dog. When an owner controls the walk and doesn’t let the dog sniff, it reinforces the notion that you are alpha.
By doing a few of these suggestions as well as getting your dog into an obedience class, you will notice an improvement right away.
